The Best Website Feedback and UX Analytics Tools for Marketers in 2026

Cortality: see why visitors do not buy, then fix it

For most marketers, the best website feedback and UX analytics tools are Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, which are both free, plus Contentsquare (Hotjar's new home) when you want surveys and feedback next to recordings. Add Mouseflow, Fullstory or Cortality depending on whether you need funnels, deep product analytics, or a ranked list of page fixes.

Quick answers

What should a marketer install first?

Google Analytics 4 to see which campaigns and pages lose visitors, and Microsoft Clarity to watch what those visitors did. Both are free.

Where did Hotjar go?

Hotjar is now part of Contentsquare, and new users can no longer create a Hotjar account (Contentsquare). Contentsquare's free plan includes heatmaps, recordings and basic surveys.

Which tool tells me what to change on the page?

Analytics, recordings and surveys each give you part of the picture, and you put it together. Cortality measures how real visitors use every element of the page and gives you a ranked Fix List with the exact change and a re-measure for each. It works alongside GA4 and Clarity. 1. Google Analytics 4: where campaigns and pages lose people

What it does well. Shows which sources, campaigns, pages and funnel steps lose visitors, and connects to Google Ads and Search Console (Google).

Pricing. Free of charge.

Who it's for. Every marketer. It tells you where to look; it doesn't show what happened on the page.

2. Microsoft Clarity: free behavior data

What it does well. Session recordings, click and scroll heatmaps, rage and dead clicks, funnels, a Google Analytics integration, and Copilot summaries of heatmaps (Clarity FAQ).

Pricing. Free forever, with no traffic limits.

Keep in mind. Recordings are kept for 30 days, and surveys aren't part of Clarity's listed features.

Who it's for. Any marketer who wants to see real visitor behavior at no cost.

3. Contentsquare, Hotjar's new home: behavior plus feedback

What it does well. Heatmaps, recordings, funnels and basic surveys on the free plan. Voice of Customer adds feedback widgets, surveys and AI survey summaries, and its free tier covers 3 widgets or surveys and 100 responses a month. Growth adds AI summaries of replays and heatmaps and 13 months of data (pricing).

Pricing. Free covers up to 200k sessions a month. Growth is $49 a month paid monthly or $39 a month paid yearly. Voice of Customer Growth starts at $79 a month. New accounts start with a 15-day trial of Growth.

Who it's for. Marketers who want to read survey answers next to the recording of the same visit. See Microsoft Clarity vs Hotjar for the head-to-head.

4. Mouseflow: funnels, forms and feedback on a budget

What it does well. Session replays, click, scroll and attention heatmaps, friction detection, conversion funnels, and Mina AI. Higher plans add feedback surveys, form analytics and journey analytics (pricing).

Pricing. Free covers 500 sessions a month. Essential is 39 a month paid monthly (25 paid yearly) for 5,000 sessions, Advanced 149 (109) for 25,000, and Premium 399 (319) for 100,000. Enterprise is custom. Mouseflow's page shows these numbers without a currency symbol, so check the price for your region. There's a 14-day free trial.

Who it's for. Small teams that want funnels and form analytics in the same tool as recordings.

5. Fullstory: deep product analytics for larger teams

What it does well. Behavioral data for funnels and trends at scale, with add-ons for in-app guides and surveys and an AI agent product, StoryAI (pricing).

Pricing. FullstoryFree includes 30,000 sessions a month and 12 months of analytics retention. The Business, Advanced and Enterprise plans are priced on request.

Who it's for. Product and analytics teams at larger companies, more than a solo marketer.

6. Cortality: which element to fix first

What it does well. One small tag, which takes about 5 minutes to add, measures how real visitors use every element of the page: what they see, what they skip, and where they scroll, tap and stop. You get a ranked Fix List. Each finding shows what we measured, why it costs you, the exact change to make, and a re-measure that shows whether it worked (how it works).

Pricing. Starter $99 a month, Growth $249 a month, Scale $499 a month, and Enterprise is custom, month to month (pricing). Every plan starts with a free first week, and you see your first report before any charge. Any charge can be refunded within 14 days, no reason needed (refunds).

Keep in mind. It doesn't collect written feedback, and it works alongside GA4 and Clarity rather than replacing them.

Who it's for. Marketers running landing pages, stores or SaaS sites that get traffic but not enough conversions, who'd rather get the fixes in order than watch hours of recordings.

Want a quick look first? The free page scan works from a URL alone, takes about a minute, and needs no install. It's a prediction from our attention model, not data from your real visitors, and the full findings arrive by email.

A marketer's stack, by budget

  1. $0: GA4 plus Clarity. Check your main landing pages each week.
  2. You want the "why": add Contentsquare's free surveys, or Mouseflow if you also want funnels and form analytics.
  3. You have traffic and few conversions: add Cortality for a ranked list of fixes and a re-measure on each. Start your free week.

Start with Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, which are both free. Fullstory suits larger teams that need deep product analytics. Cortality fits when you want a ranked list of page fixes and a re-measure of each one.

What's the best free tool for website feedback?

Contentsquare's free plan includes basic surveys, and its Voice of Customer free tier covers 100 responses a month. For behavior rather than written feedback, Microsoft Clarity is free forever with no traffic limits.

Hotjar is now part of Contentsquare. New users can no longer create a Hotjar account and sign up for Contentsquare instead, which includes heatmaps, recordings and surveys on its free plan.
